Books On Krav Maga
To date, Krav Maga Yashir Head Instructor, Gershon Ben Keren has written three books on Krav Maga, each featuuring different facets of the system. All three were shot in full color, with all techniques being demonstrated at full speed, rather than being shot as static and "staged", poses etc. Photos were also taken in the settings where they would likely be performed e.g., at bars, transit stops and outside ATM's. This approach helps capture both the context and dynamic nature of real-life violence. All three books were published by Tuttle Press.
Krav Maga - Real World Solutions
“Krav Maga – Real World Solutions to Real World Violence”, introduces the reader to the fundamental concepts and principles of Krav Maga, upon which the Krav Maga Yashir system is founded. The book explains the Krav Maga blocking system, which is based upon natural, reflexive, and inherent movement. It also looks at how to develop clean, crisp, and powerful striking, that relies not just on aggression but on technical skills as well. The rest of the book looks at common attack and threat scenarios (both unarmed and armed) and physical solutions for dealing with them.

Krav Maga - Tactical Survival
“Krav Maga – Tactical Survival”, builds on some of the solutions presented in Gershon Ben Keren’s first book, demonstrating how assailants can make more complex attacks, such as securing an arm during a knife threat etc. It also introduces attacks from new positions and angles e.g., the first book demonstrated knife shanks from the front and rear, whilst in this book defenses against attacks from both left and right are shown. The book also focuses heavily on social violence i.e., disputes and arguments that arise out of everyday social interactions, and how these can often be de-escalated.

Krav Maga - Extreme Survival
“Krav Maga – Extreme Survival”, looks at three types of less likely types of violence, which often result in more serious consequences. The first section looks at active shooter and active killer scenarios, such as school shootings, workplace shootings as well as mass killings in public spaces. The second part looks at home invasions, and presents the risks and realities of these events, whilst the third part looks at carjackings, involving how to fight in a confined space, using the environment to your advantage. The techniques demonstrated in the scenarios can also be used to deal with violence in other contexts.
